Code of conduct

The purpose of the code of conduct is to define what is generally acceptable behaviour within the organisation. It lets all staff know what is expected of them and helps ensure our daily activities are heading in the right direction. This is how we want to keep delivering on the confidence that people have in our organisation.

We provide professional services, doing so by observing the following guidelines.

  1. We provide our services in line with the policies of RSW Accountants + Adviseurs.
  2. We only offer services that are within the scope of our competencies and we aim not to deliver anything less than what we promise.
  3. Our offers are highly competitive but we are only ever involved in practices that are both legal and ethical.
  4. We meet our contractual obligations, and our reports and our invoicing are done honestly.
  5. We respect the confidentiality and privacy of our clients, our people and others we do business with. Except with express permission, we do not use confidential information for personal objectives or in ways that could be favourable for our organisation or third parties. We only make confidential information or personal details public where necessary and if we have either obtained appropriate approval or are obliged to do so to meet legal, legislative or professional requirements.
  6. We want to avoid conflicts of interest. Where there are potential conflicts of interest and we believe that the interests of the parties concerned can be properly protected by implementing appropriate procedures, we will implement such procedures.
  7. We cherish our independence. We protect the trust of our clients and other stakeholders by adhering to legal and professional standards that are designed to let us work as objectively as possible. As part of that, we want to make sure that our independence is not compromised and does not appear to be compromised. We respond actively to situations and circumstances that compromise our objectivity or could appear to do so.
  8. When we are faced with difficult issues or matters where there is a risk for our organisation, we consult the appropriate people within our organisation before taking action. We follow the technical and administrative requirements that apply to us in consultations.
  9. Neither accepting nor paying bribes is acceptable for us.

We would encourage everyone to report and express any doubts about compliance with the code of conduct sincerely, honestly and respectfully. Our organisation aims to protect individuals from reprisals. Managers and supervisors are responsible for dealing with problems that are brought to their attention. When an actual or suspected breach of our code of conduct is reported, the situation will be investigated. If necessary, steps such as disciplinary action or even – in extreme cases – dismissal will follow. This also applies to anyone who incites, approves of or knows about infringements and does not take immediate action to correct them.
